For those of you who dont know (and there may be many) we are getting married. Renee tells me that I am a slack-ass for not sending out an invitation months ago, but I only got a chance to make it last week when nothing was happening at work.
I think we decided to get married in Thailand sometime mid 2006 when we and a bunch of friends planned to go to our friends Upinder and Kirans wedding in Singapore and then take a cheap flight to Thailand for some rest, food, beaches etc...
A lot of the planning for the wedding itself has happened in the last week - because we perform best under pressure (and Renee went a bit bridezilla). Thanks to our good friends Carolyn and Chrissie we have a list of tasks and responsiblilities. So far we have organised to have the legal, registry wedding on Jan 30th in Darwin, have got material and designs for Renees dress and bridesmaids dresses, got the best man organised (thanks, Ek) and Renee has ordered 1 of the rings. We have also looked unsuccefully for a pair of black and white floral boardshorts for me to wear with a suit jacket.
If you have not recieved an invite yet via email you have not been snobbed. We are just slack and disorganised or we dont know your email address. Here is your invite: you can print it out if you like or just add it to your favourites list so you can look at it every day (hehehe).
PS- Renee wanted to make sure everyone knows that the reason this is so chaotic and last minute is because I put myself in charge of organising the wedding (because she proposed). So dont hassle her about this - it is all my doing. Renee also wanted me to mention that I am a cheap bastard. Hang on I'll just see if she has any other complaints....- that Im not taking this seriously enough
- that she cant believe I set up a blog, even though she thinks it is very cool
- that the wedding revolves around when my mates are going to be in Thailand
- and lastly that Ek (who is from Bangkok and speaks Thai better than English and is my best man) has been almost useless in organising the Thai side of things remember this is renee saying this not me, Ek But he did make payment on the villa (accomodation in Phuket) so I guess he's OK.
